While working on the outside shower I had to drain the water from the system an noticed a leak in the shower drain.
It appears to be a case of freeze up. To get the trap out I needed to remove the shower drain which was damaged in the process. A new stainless steel drain has been ordered along with a new shower / tub faucet.
