The workbench had spent the last 4 years outside, covered up, in Florida. Even though it was out of the rain, the humidity created some issues. I found a piece of 4″ x 18″ oak that I am going to use to make a new top. It’s “only” 18″ and I need to finish the top out at 24″. I located a piece of 4″ x 6″ spruce that I will joint, spline and glue up to the oak. It will be at the back of the top where it does not see much action.
