scale
Select the object you wish to scale with the select tool. Then click on the scale tool. The object you had selected will become surrounded by a box with grips on it. Select any one of the grips to scale the object. A dashed line will appear, showing the scale orientation. Tips and Tricks Mirroring in Sketchup is done with the scale tool. First, select the object you would like to mirror. Then use the move tool to make a copy of that object by moving it while holding Opt/Ctrl. Then select the copy and scale it by a factor of -1. That will make a perfect mirrored object. If the default axes of SketchUp and the orientation of an entity you want to scale is not perpendicular, the scale box SketchUp offers you might prove useless. Try to right click on a face with the correct orientation and select DQAlign AxesDQ from the context menu; SketchUp will reposition the axes according to that face and the scale box will be perpendicular to the object.
